What to Expect
Once we receive authorization from the insurance company to begin the initial assessment, a BCBA or qualified supervisor will contact you to conduct a minimum of 2 observations with your child. One will be conducted in the home environment; the other may be in the home, school or community setting. An interview with a parent, guardian, and/or teacher will also be conducted. All of the information gathered in the observations and interviews will be used to write the initial assessment report. The assessment process can take 1-3 months.
All treatment programs are based off of the initial assessment report that has been reviewed and approved by a BCBA, and we have received an authorization from the insurance company. Treatment programs vary in hours per week, depending on the needs of the child. Typical programs are 10-30 hours per week, but some may be as little as 6 hours per week, as many as 40 hours per week, or parent training services only. We do not have a minimum or maximum number of hours that we will provide. All services are provided based on the needs of the client.
